In November 2020 the CPokemon forum experienced a significant data breach affecting over 71 thousand members. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the vBulletin forum database. Compromised information included sensitive user credentials and personal details. Technical analysis revealed that passwords were stored using either vBulletin hashing or Bcrypt algorithms. The exposure posed a risk to users who reuse passwords across different gaming and social platforms.
