CrackingItaly

In January 2017 the Italian hacking forum CrackingItaly suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized party managed to gain access to the forum database resulting in the exposure of approximately 18000 user accounts. The leaked information included sensitive member details such as usernames email addresses and passwords. The passwords were encrypted using the Bcrypt hashing algorithm. This incident highlighted vulnerabilities within niche security communities where users often share sensitive cracking tools and methods.
