About this leak

In April 2020 a data breach involving the cryptocurrency mining platform Cryptostar.asia was identified after a database containing records of approximately 22 thousand users was leaked online. The incident exposed sensitive account credentials and technical identifiers. The compromise occurred when an unauthorized party gained access to the backend storage and published the contents on a public forum. The data included email addresses and passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking. Additionally user IP addresses were exposed potentially linking physical locations to digital accounts.
