In March 2021 the Romanian publishing house Curtea Veche suffered a significant data breach when its website was compromised by unauthorized actors. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 120000 user records. The leaked information included sensitive customer details such as email addresses full names phone numbers and IP addresses. Additionally passwords stored as salted hashes were part of the exposed data set. This breach highlights vulnerabilities in e-commerce and publishing platforms regarding user data protection in the Eastern European region.
