DaniWeb

In late 2015 the technology community and social forum DaniWeb suffered a data breach impacting approximately 1.1 million user accounts. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive user information including email addresses and IP addresses. The breach also involved the compromise of salted MD5 password hashes. While the company confirmed an unauthorized access event they claimed that many of the leaked hashes were incorrect or broken. Following the incident the platform migrated to new infrastructure and updated its software to improve security measures for its members.
