Dave

In June 2020 the digital banking app Dave suffered a major data breach after a former business partner system was compromised. The incident resulted in the exposure of personal records for approximately 7.5 million users. The leaked data included 3 million unique email addresses along with full names dates of birth physical addresses and telephone numbers. Furthermore the breach contained Social Security numbers encrypted with DES and passwords hashed using the Bcrypt algorithm. The data was subsequently published on public hacking forums for free download after being initially offered for sale.
