In April 2016 the official forums of the popular survival game DayZ were compromised. Attackers exploited vulnerabilities in the PHPBB forum software to gain unauthorized access to the database. The breach resulted in the exposure of approximately 200000 user accounts. Leaked information included usernames, email addresses, IP addresses and passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salts. Bohemia Interactive confirmed the incident and forced a password reset for all forum users as a security measure.
