In 2021 the Georgian national register of debtors operated by the government was compromised. The security incident led to the exposure of a database containing information on individuals listed within the registry. The breach revealed sensitive personal details of approximately one million citizens. Hackers managed to extract the data and subsequently leaked it into the public domain which raised significant privacy concerns regarding the security of state-managed digital records in Georgia.
