Duowan

In late 2011 the Chinese social gaming platform Duowan suffered a significant data breach involving approximately 8 million user accounts although some sources initially reported 2.6 million. The incident occurred when the database was compromised and subsequently leaked online in a plaintext format. This security failure exposed sensitive credentials and personal identifiers of users registered on the platform which is closely associated with the YY communication service and various online games.
