Eatigo

In October 2018 the online restaurant reservation platform Eatigo experienced a significant security incident involving the exposure of its customer database. The breach resulted in the compromise of approximately 2.8 million user accounts across multiple Southeast Asian markets. The leaked information originated from a legacy database and included sensitive personal details such as names and contact information. Technical analysis revealed that user passwords were stored using the MD5 hashing algorithm without any additional salt making them highly vulnerable to brute force attacks and decryption efforts by malicious actors.
