E-insurance.in.ua

In 2008 the Ukrainian insurance platform E-insurance.in.ua suffered a data breach involving approximately 8800 user records. The incident exposed sensitive account information including platform nicknames and personal email addresses. Critically the database stored user passwords in plain text format making them immediately accessible to unauthorized parties. The portal focused on automotive insurance services for the Ukrainian market and this leak represents an early example of insufficient cryptographic protection for user credentials in the regional insurance sector.
