In October 2023 reports emerged regarding a significant data breach involving the Unified Information System of Health in Kazakhstan known as EISZ. The incident allegedly originated from a vulnerability in the DMED system. The leaked dataset reportedly contained over 28 million records including sensitive personal information such as full names, birth dates, phone numbers, home addresses, and national identification numbers or passport details of Kazakhstani citizens. While the total claim involved tens of millions of records, a sample of approximately 2.3 million unique records was shared in the public domain. There have been conflicting reports regarding the authenticity of the data with some experts suggesting the records might be generated or aggregated from other sources.
