In June 2023 the threat actor group known as NLB leaked data allegedly stolen from the major Russian publishing group Eksmo-AST. The incident involved two separate database files representing different divisions of the company. The Eksmo portion of the breach contains approximately 433 thousand user records. The compromised data includes personal identifiers and security credentials such as encrypted passwords stored in Bcrypt and salted MD5 formats. This breach highlights ongoing cyber attacks targeting significant commercial entities within the region by organized hacking collectives.
