Elanic

In January 2020 the Indian social fashion marketplace Elanic suffered a significant data breach when a malicious actor gained unauthorized access to one of its servers. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 2.8 million records which were later leaked on the Khackker hacking forum. The dataset contained personal information belonging to over 2.3 million unique users. Investigations revealed that the compromised data primarily originated from the period between 2016 and 2018. The company confirmed that the security failure allowed the extraction of user profiles from their internal infrastructure.
