In 2021 the Russian online electronics and components store Electro-smart.ru suffered a data breach. The incident led to the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 90 users. The leaked dataset contained sensitive details including full names, company affiliations, email addresses, and mobile phone numbers. Additionally, the data included user passwords stored in encrypted formats using Bcrypt hashing algorithms. The breach highlights vulnerabilities in e-commerce platforms where customer data and hashed credentials can be extracted and potentially decrypted or used for credential stuffing attacks.
