In October 2022 the E-Pal platform which facilitates finding teammates for gaming and social interaction suffered a data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive information belonging to approximately 108000 users. Security researchers identified that the leaked data included account identifiers and transaction details. The compromise likely stemmed from a vulnerability in the platforms database or API allowing unauthorized access to user records and purchase history.
