EpicNPC

In January 2016 the gaming marketplace EpicNPC suffered a significant data security incident involving an unauthorized database exposure. The breach resulted in the compromise of approximately 409000 registered user accounts. Sensitive information leaked during the attack included internal usernames, email addresses, IP addresses, and passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes. The incident occurred due to an exploit in the vBulletin forum software which allowed attackers to gain access to the underlying database and extract subscriber records.
