Eroticy

In mid-2016 the adult entertainment website Eroticy suffered a significant data breach. An unauthorized third party managed to compromise the platform database resulting in the exposure of approximately 1.4 million user accounts. The breach was particularly severe because sensitive user data including credentials and contact information was stored in an insecure manner allowing the data to be leaked into the public domain and shared on various hacking forums.
