In January 2021 an open access database belonging to the adult review platform EscortreViews was discovered online without any authentication. The security incident exposed the personal information of over 400000 registered users. The leaked dataset included sensitive details such as email addresses usernames dates of birth and passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. This exposure allowed unauthorized access to user profiles and potentially facilitated credential stuffing attacks across other platforms where users might have reused the same credentials.
