A significant data breach involving the Pakistani government portal Excise.gos.pk was reported in September 2024. The incident exposed sensitive records of more than 10.6 million vehicle owners across the Sindh province. The leaked dataset contains detailed information regarding car ownership, person identity documents, and specific technical specifications of vehicles. This exposure occurred due to vulnerabilities in the official excise and taxation department systems, allowing unauthorized access to a massive database used for vehicle registration and tax collection.
