ExileMod

In August 2016 the community forum for Exile Mod a popular sandbox survival modification for the Arma series suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of sensitive user information for approximately 80500 members. The breach was primarily attributed to vulnerabilities within the forum software which allowed attackers to extract the database. The leaked data contained a mix of account details including cryptographic hashes of passwords. Specifically the passwords were stored using Bcrypt and WordPress hashing algorithms which while generally robust were still compromised in their hashed form alongside other identifiable metadata.
