Expat.ru

In August 2022 the Russian portal Expat.ru experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 90000 users. The incident involved the exposure of sensitive database records including user email addresses and nicknames. The security breach also compromised passwords stored as MD5 hashes with salt. Additionally the leaked dataset contained personal details such as dates of birth and IP addresses along with forum activity statistics and Skype account identifiers. The leak originated from a forum based platform designed for international professionals and expatriates living in Russia.
