ExVagos

In July 2022 the Spanish language forum ExVagos suffered a significant data breach affecting its community of users. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive information belonging to approximately 2.1 million participants. The compromised data set included personal details such as usernames and email addresses along with dates of birth and IP addresses. Security analysis revealed that passwords were also stored in the database as MD5 hashes with salt which are considered weak by modern standards and susceptible to cracking. The breach allowed unauthorized entities to gain access to the private database of this long standing data sharing platform.
