FileIce

In May 2015 the Fileice file exchange service suffered a security breach that compromised approximately 5 thousand user accounts. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive user credentials and identification data including email addresses and usernames. Technical details revealed that passwords were stored using the PHPBB3 MD5 hashing algorithm which is considered weak by modern standards. Additionally user IP addresses were part of the exposed dataset. The service has since ceased operations and is currently inactive.
