This incident involved an unsecured database that became accessible to the public without authentication. The dataset contained approximately 4.5 million records of Russian citizens. The leak exposed highly sensitive personal identification information including full names residential addresses dates of birth and internal passport details. This exposure posed a severe risk of identity theft and financial fraud for the affected individuals as the data originated from a government migratory oversight body.
