In April 2007 the Foxy Bingo online gambling platform suffered a significant data breach when hackers successfully infiltrated its systems. The incident resulted in the compromise of approximately 252000 user accounts. The stolen information was later sold on underground forums and included sensitive personal details. The breach was particularly severe because user passwords were stored in plain text format making them immediately accessible to unauthorized parties. The leaked records also contained full names and physical home addresses of the affected players which increased the risk of targeted fraud or identity theft for the users involved.
