In April 2018 the online gaming platform FunnyGames suffered a significant data breach affecting approximately half of its user base. The incident originated from outdated legacy code that remained active on their systems. The security failure led to the exposure of sensitive user credentials and connection metadata. According to official statements the company became aware of the vulnerability in July 2018 and subsequently patched the flaw. The leaked data included salted MD5 password hashes which are considered weak by modern cryptographic standards.
