Gaadi

In May 2015 the Indian automotive portal Gaadi experienced a significant data breach affecting approximately 4.3 million users. The incident exposed a large database containing sensitive personal information. Security researchers discovered that the leaked data included user names, email addresses, and IP addresses. Additionally, the database contained gender and city information. Most critically, the breach included passwords stored in both plain text and MD5 hash formats, making them highly vulnerable to exploitation by unauthorized parties. The exposure highlights major security flaws in how the platform handled sensitive user credentials during that period.
