GamesBox

In March 2021 the gaming platform known as GamesBox suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of its user database. The incident led to the compromise of approximately 1.5 million user accounts. Investigations revealed that the leaked data contained highly sensitive information including usernames and email addresses. Most critically the passwords within the database were stored in an unhashed plaintext format making them immediately accessible to unauthorized parties. The platform has since become non-existent following the event.
