In mid 2023 an open database list containing 1.6 million records was identified. The dataset included email addresses, usernames and passwords stored in plain text format. While the collection was labeled as originating from the Gametrailers.com website, the current site redirects users to a YouTube channel, making the exact origin of the historical data difficult to verify. The breach scale suggests a significant historical archive of user credentials was exposed through an unsecured source.
