Gemotest

In April 2022 the medical laboratory Gemotest suffered a massive data breach involving 31 million records. The incident originated from a vulnerability in the laboratory information system which allowed unauthorized access to sensitive personal and medical data. The leaked database appeared on dark web forums and included detailed information about patients across Russia. Cybersecurity researchers confirmed that the data set was authentic and contained records dating back several years. This breach is considered one of the largest in the Russian medical sector exposing patients to significant identity theft and phishing risks.
