In November 2020 a significant data breach involving the GeniusU entrepreneur education platform was identified as part of a larger collection of leaks. The incident exposed personal details of approximately 1.3 million users. The compromised data originated from the GeniusU Success Platform for Entrepreneurs and included sensitive information such as names and email addresses. Technical details like IP addresses and social media profile links were also part of the set. Crucially passwords were leaked in the form of bcrypt hashes which provides some level of protection but still poses a risk if weak passwords were used.
