GiveSendGo

In February 2022 the Christian crowdfunding platform GiveSendGo suffered a significant data breach after being targeted by hackers protesting against the Freedom Convoy and mandatory vaccination mandates. The incident involved the exposure of a database containing sensitive information about approximately 90000 donors. Hackers gained unauthorized access to the platform and redirected the website to a page condemning the protest funding. The leaked dataset included personal identifiers of individuals who contributed to various campaigns. The breach was widely publicized by media outlets and data transparency groups emphasizing the vulnerability of political and social fundraising platforms to targeted cyber attacks for ideological reasons.
