In October 2015 the popular manga and gaming platform GOGAMES.Me suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of approximately 3.4 million user records. The compromised information included internal account identifiers such as usernames and email addresses as well as technical data like IP addresses. Most critically the breach included user passwords stored as salted MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak by modern standards. Despite the scale of the exposure the company did not provide an official response or notification to the affected user base following the discovery of the database in the public domain.
