GoGames 2020

In January 2020 the manga and gaming website Go Games suffered a significant security breach resulting in the exposure of millions of user accounts. The incident led to the unauthorized access and subsequent disclosure of personal identifiable information including usernames and email addresses. Furthermore passwords stored as MD5 salted hashes were compromised during the attack. This breach affected approximately 6.3 million users which is more than double the impact of a previous security incident involving the same platform back in 2015. The data was later circulated in the darknet community and added to various breach notification services.
