The URL shortening service Go-gl.com suffered a data breach in October 2023. An unauthorized party managed to compromise the user database through a vulnerability in the systems security. The incident resulted in the exposure of approximately 5500 user records. The leaked data includes email addresses and usernames along with passwords stored as MD5 hashes which are considered cryptographically weak and susceptible to cracking by modern hardware.
