In early 2019 the Turkish golf community portal Golfturkiye.net suffered a significant data exposure. The breach originated from an unsecured database or a vulnerability in the forum software which allowed unauthorized access to user registration details. The leaked information included personal identifiers and contact details of members interested in golf activities in Turkey. This incident exposed the community to potential phishing attacks and social engineering attempts. Security researchers identified the leak containing thousands of records that were later circulated in the darknet community.
