In early 2019 the Swedish clothing brand Grand Frank experienced a significant data breach where a database containing sensitive customer information was exposed. The incident involved an unprotected database that was accessible on the internet without any authentication requirements. The leaked data included customer names, physical addresses, email addresses, and phone numbers. This exposure put thousands of international customers at risk of phishing and targeted social engineering attacks. Security researchers discovered the open instance and reported it, leading to the eventual securing of the data, but not before it was indexed and potentially accessed by unauthorized parties.
