In September 2022 the Russian online home goods retailer GreenLoft suffered a data breach resulting in the exposure of its customer database. The incident led to the unauthorized access of sensitive user information including personal identifiers and security credentials. Investigations revealed that the leaked data contained approximately 83000 records. The breach involved the compromise of full names email addresses and mobile phone numbers along with user passwords stored using the weak MD5 hashing algorithm which is susceptible to decryption through various cryptographic attacks.
