In April 2018 the Russian mobile repair community GsmForum.ru suffered a significant data breach. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive user information from the forums database. The breach included plaintext passwords which significantly increases the risk for users who reuse credentials across multiple platforms. The leak primarily affected technicians and hobbyists involved in electronics repair and mobile hardware servicing.
