In early 2020 the online retailer Gsm-Opt specializing in spare parts for mobile devices suffered a cyberattack resulting in a data breach. The compromised database included sensitive information belonging to approximately 87 thousand users. The incident involved the exposure of customer contact details and login credentials which were stored using weak hashing methods making them vulnerable to decryption by malicious actors.
