In August 2021 the popular Brazilian fast food chain Habibs suffered a significant data breach affecting its delivery platform. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 3.6 million customers. The leaked dataset contained sensitive identifiers including individual tax IDs known as CPF numbers along with technical metadata such as IP addresses. This security failure exposed a large portion of the companys digital customer base to potential identity theft and targeted phishing campaigns.
