Hakeem.jo is the national program for the digitalization of the healthcare sector in Jordan. In early 2024 a significant data breach occurred involving the Electronic Health Record system. The incident allegedly exposed sensitive patient information and administrative records. The breach was reported by security researchers who discovered the data being traded on dark web forums. The exposure reportedly stems from an unsecured API or a vulnerability in the healthcare management platform which allowed unauthorized access to the database containing medical history and personal identifiers of Jordanian citizens.
