In August 2020 the travel service portal HelloTravel suffered a data breach that exposed personal information of approximately 105 thousand registered users. The incident involved the unauthorized access and subsequent leak of a database containing sensitive user details. The exposed data included personal identifiers and account security credentials. This breach allowed attackers to gain access to user profiles and potentially facilitate further social engineering or credential stuffing attacks across other platforms where users might have reused the same passwords.
