In January 2021 the adult content exchange platform HentaiCloud experienced a data breach that exposed the personal information of approximately 35 thousand users. The incident involved an unauthorized access to the service database resulting in the disclosure of sensitive user credentials. The leaked dataset contained account identifiers and security credentials stored as salted hashes which provide some protection but remain vulnerable to offline cracking attempts. This leak allowed third parties to gain insights into user activities on the platform and potentially compromise accounts with weak security measures.
