In 2021 the online gaming platform HeyPlay experienced a data breach that resulted in the exposure of user information. The incident involved the compromise of a database containing approximately 60000 records. Exposed data included user email addresses full names player nicknames and IP addresses. Additionally passwords were leaked in the form of bcrypt hashes which provides a level of protection but still requires users to update their credentials to prevent unauthorized access.
