The Polish Minecraft server Hitmc.pl experienced a data breach that resulted in the exposure of its user database. The leak originated from an unsecured server or configuration error that allowed unauthorized access to internal records. The exposed information includes unique nicknames, IP addresses, and password hashes. The passwords were encrypted using the SHA-512 hashing algorithm, which provides a layer of security but remains vulnerable to brute-force attacks if the salt is weak or missing. Approximately 90000 users were affected by this incident.
