In September 2020 a significant data leak involving Home Credit Bank in Russia was discovered. The incident involved the exposure of personal information belonging to approximately 45 thousand customers. The data was found on a specialized forum and likely originated from internal banking systems or a third party partner. The breach compromised sensitive contact details which could be used for social engineering and phishing attacks targeting the bank clients.
