In October 2019 the Dutch prostitution forum Hookers nl suffered a significant data breach due to a critical zero day vulnerability in the vBulletin forum software. The incident resulted in the exposure of sensitive personal information belonging to both sex workers and clients. The leaked data included email addresses, usernames, IP addresses, and salted MD5 password hashes. This breach posed a high risk to users due to the sensitive nature of the service and the potential for doxing or extortion. The stolen database was subsequently shared on various hacking forums.
