In 2020 a significant security breach affected the Belarusian cloud solutions provider Hoster.by. The incident resulted in the unauthorized exposure of over 2 million user records. The leaked database contained sensitive information including user nicknames and email addresses alongside passwords stored as MD5 and SHA1 salted hashes. This breach impacted a wide range of business clients and individual users relying on the platform for hosting and cloud infrastructure services within the region.
